Head of AML (SVP)

SMT Fund Services (Ireland) Limited provides fund administration services to a wide variety of investment products covering all alternative and regulated products. 

About the Position

Reporting to the Director of Risk & Compliance, this role with suit a highly effective, knowledgeable and experienced Head of AML - (SVP) and offers a superb opportunity to impart your advice and guidance to enable the successful development of their AML risk framework across the fund services / depositary business. 


You will:

  • Guide business units through internal and external changes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, business standards, codes of conduct and guidance. 
  • Provide advice and deliver AML MI reporting and help shape and streamline MI reporting processes. 


Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the business based on trust, capability and integrity.  Provide high quality advice and guidance to help the business to meet their regulatory, strategic and tactical objectives.

  • Ensure that all Investors and Clients meet the due diligence requirements of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010, the Criminal Justice Act 2013 and the Proceeds of Crime Law in the Cayman Islands.
  • Crucially you will develop strong working relationships with Transition, SHS, Operations, Legal, Depositary and Corporate Governance. 
     

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop and streamline the existing Investor and Client CDD process
•    Management of a high performing team of AML professionals
•    Lead regulatory projects at Board and Regulator level
•    Act as the AML subject matter expert for system upgrades
•    Key point of contact for Fund MLROs
•    Business owner of Lexis Nexis

  • Preparation of frequent reporting to Company Boards, Executive Committee
  • and clients
  • Review, update AML policies, procedures and provide updates on AML legislative changes 
  • Identify efficiencies and improvements in processes and controls and liaise with peers and senior management to successfully shape change
  • Manage 4MLD & 5MLD implementation and training
 

Experience/Requirements

This role will suit someone who is a strong advisor on AML matters with all levels of staff and be capable of effective communication with external organisations. You will need a structured and determined approach to work and display a keen sense of attention to detail.

 
  • In-depth knowledge of AML Legislation, Core and Sectoral Guideline Notes as well as a demonstrable understanding of the AML requirements associated with various legal entities, fund jurisdictions and PEP's.  
  • Sound understanding of fund administration / depositary services and have the ability to horizon scan and devise new risk mitigation solutions.
  • Direct experience of Lexis Nexis is advantageous 
  • Confident and well versed in considering alternative options for responding to regulatory and strategic challenges. 
  • Robust understanding of the Irish and Cayman regulatory framework. 
  • Excellent communication style with stakeholders at all levels within the business.
  • Prior PCF holder (“PCF - 52”) as defined in the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and the job holder is required to meet and maintain the Standards of Fitness and Probity outlined in the code issued by the Central Bank of Ireland pursuant to section 50 of the Act.
 

Remuneration Package

Competitive remuneration package. Hybrid working policy - 1 day office and 4 days from home.
