Head of Compliance 
 
Brightwater Executive is delighted to be retained by a fast-scaling financial services group, for their Head of Compliance role, which is expanding across multiple jurisdictions in Europe.

About the Position

The Head of Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance function for their European operation through an FoS operating model.  The ideal candidate will have solid experience in overseeing the compliance framework, annual plans and manage key stakeholder relationships with the wider group and the CBI. 

Key Responsibilities

  • As a PCF 12 holder, manage day-to-day regulatory relationships with the CBI, overseeing regulatory risks across Europe, to ensure the business is compliant with all relevant regulations.
  • Provide regulatory advice and oversight and ensure strong horizon scanning of upstream regulation from a local and European view, as the business scales into new markets. 
  • Ensure compliance activities are completed on time and within scope.
  • Be a strong conduit and advisor across complex compliance issues.
  • Lead and enable a continuous improvement culture and mindset across compliance policies and frameworks.
  • Initiate and drive training sessions for wider teams across compliance and risk topics and support wider cross functional management teams in their understandings of  compliance

Experience/Requirements

  • Ideally 7 – 10 years of experience in a compliance role within financial services.
  • Experience in cross-border passporting within Europe.
  • Thrives in a growing, scaling environment and very comfortable with change.
  • Adept in managing and leading out on regulatory relationships. 
  • Sound knowledge of risk management, governance and controls with sound experience managing relationships across first and second lines of defence.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to distil complex info in user friendly format.
  • 3rd level qualification with a Compliance qualification ideally.
