About the Company

Our client, a large, complex organisation based in Dublin, has a superb opportunity for a Director of Human Resources to join them.

About the Position

Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's success by providing strategic leadership to the HR team. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing HR initiatives that align with the organisation's overall business objectives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR functions and provide guidance on leadership and management of staff.
  • Ensure HR strategy aligns with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Provide high-quality and responsive HR services to all stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance a comprehensive HR policy framework that meets operational needs and complies with relevant regulations.
  • Promote best practices and ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on organisational design and development.
  • Promote good practices in developing and managing employee performance.
  • Support the ongoing development of leadership capacity.
  • Ensure good relations between the organisation, its employees, and their representative organisations.
  • Foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Contribute to the development of national HR policies and practices in the industry.
  • Participate in relevant industry associations and networks.

Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR management experience, ideally in both public and private sector organisations.
  • 3rd level qualification in a related field (Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field)
  • Full membership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Focus on delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to articulate and implement a clear strategic vision for HR.
