Chief Compliance Officer (PCF 15 & 52)

About the Position

We're delighted to be retained on the search for this leading EMI firm, as they continue on their ambitious growth trajectory, to become the top payment provider for European SMEs. 

You'll lead and oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of the company's compliance and AML framework. This CCO requires deep knowledge of payments, e-money regulations, AML/CFT, and eKYC/RegTech integrations. You'll be a key member of the senior team, ensuring regulatory compliance while supporting business growth enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s compliance framework,  anti-money laundering systems and controls and supervising the implementation of a financial crime program, and will serve as the company’s appointed Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
  • Compliance: Lead the function, ensuring adherence to all regulations (CBI, PSD2, E-Money Directive, AML/CFT, data protection).
  • AML/CFT: Act as MLRO, overseeing AML/CFT policies and controls (CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring).
  • eKYC & RegTech: Oversee integration and management of advanced eKYC and RegTech solutions for customer onboarding and monitoring.
  • Policy & Governance: Develop, implement, and enhance compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Risk Management: Work with Risk and Legal teams to develop and maintain a robust risk-based approach to compliance and AML/CFT.
  • Training & Culture: Design and deliver compliance/AML training programs and promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Collaboration & Advisory: Be a trusted advisor to the Board and senior management, providing guidance on strategic decisions, new products, and market expansions.
  • Regulatory Reporting & Monitoring: Ensure timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies and monitor regulatory developments.

Experience/Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in senior compliance and / or risk roles in banking, E-money or payments industries
  • Proven experience in a senior compliance/MLRO within payments or e-money 
  • Deep knowledge of Irish regulations (PSD2, E-Money Directive, AML/CFT).
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry, with specific knowledge of e-money and payment services regulations.
  • Experience implementing eKYC and RegTech solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with regulatory bodies (CBI) and manage reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
